It is better................

It is better for the country to be in peace .

Now that, my friend, would depend on your definition of peace.

Do you mean peace as in the quiet servitude of the rakyat towards political masters who should be rightfully our social guardians?

Do you mean peace as in gingerly stepping on eggshells about our rights and privileges as human beings while others plunder and rape our country?

Or do you mean peace as in 'piece' of the pie, which we longer hold on to as it has been wrestled away from us by those who would see themselves enriched at our cost?

If either three are the definitions of peace that so many are looking for, then we need to go no further. But if we are looking for a deeper meaning to peace, perhaps we should always remember these words:

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. - Thomas Jefferson

Indeed, peace is what we all want, peace to live our lives, peace to observe our religious and cultural heritage, and peace to earn a honest living.

However, peace in our country is an obtuse form of slavery toward the government, for we while we can have 'peace', the price of it is abject obedience.

No one wishes anarchy over peace. However, the peace that we have come to accept is one of political and social slavery, where we will be left in peace if we do not question, or want.

Odd to think that the very people who are supposed to protect our right, are the ones who actually enslave us, isn't it?

Step forward, sir, and let your views be known. Do so civilly, do so with respect, do so with the comfort that your views are listened to and appreciated, and do so with a clear conscience.

No one can ask for more.
